Lamothe–Abiet has been involved in oenology since 1878.
Considerate of tradition and supportive of modernity, we pay particular attention to studying consumption developments and the tendencies that issue from them on an international level. Our mission: to provide wine producers throughout the world with reliable, efficient and cost-effective tools to produce the wine they wish to market. In order to do this we have developed several areas of expertise:
Lamothe-Abiet was the pioneer in the domain of enzymology for oenology, one of the first to select specific yeasts followed by malolactic yeast starters and to create adapted activators and nutrients. The development of innovative products, especially from yeast, is our daily concern.
This firstly consists of observing and formatting existing practices. Each step has been analysed and existing oenological products have been compared. This led us to optimise the performance of our product ranges. A regular flow of innovation followed. With this, the appearance of a wine industry in the form of qualitative brands (originating from estates as well as from trade). Volumes increase and the notion of a product objective emerges.
In this domain also, Lamothe-Abiet is a pioneer. We were the first in our profession to implement a management system based on strict traceability. Food safety and peace of mind for our customers are our priority: Lamothe-Abiet is certified ISO 22000.
Oenological products are more and more numerous, increasingly high-performance but also increasingly complex. At Lamothe-Abiet we have created a technical department whose mission is to provide support and information to our clients to enable them to obtain optimal results.
